ARKANSAS
Matt Sewell began his job as State Director of Special Programs in Arkansas in 2018. Prior to becoming the State Director of Special Programs in Arkansas, Matt served in the Arkansas public school system for 19 years. During those years he served 6 years as a special education teacher/coach, 6 years as a principal, and 7 years as a district level administrator.
Matt believes the best part about leading special education in Arkansas is the ability to positively impact the outcomes in achievement and post-secondary opportunities for students with disabilities across our state. As leaders, we have the ability to influence people to think and feel differently about the things we are passionate about. We have the power to incite and ignite a passion for students with disabilities across the nation.
